Grid connected photovoltaic power generation system is a photovoltaic power generation system that can exchange energy with the national power grid. Exchange can occur in two directions:

1. If the production in the photovoltaic field exceeds the consumption within a certain period of time, the remaining portion will be fed into the power grid.

2. During the time when the generator is unable to provide enough electricity to meet user needs, energy is obtained from the power grid.

Usually, in a grid connected system, there are two counters to measure the energy exchanged in both directions, and there is an inverter that converts the direct current generated by the photovoltaic system into alternating current.

Many grid connected systems are not equipped with batteries because when there is no solar radiation, the distribution network compensates for the power supply. Nowadays, due to the lower cost of storage systems, batteries have been installed to increase the consumption of self-produced energy, thereby saving more money.
