Solar & Storage Live UK 2026 concluded in Birmingham on September 24, bringing together solar and energy storage companies, installers, distribution partners and energy professionals. Hailei New Energy took part in the three-day event to connect with the market and discuss changing energy storage requirements.

The UK solar market continues to expand. Figures cited in the company’s event recap from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) indicate that nearly 172,000 solar installations were added in 2026 up to the reporting period, with rooftop systems representing more than 70% of new installations in July.
The UK government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan outlines a solar capacity range of 45–47 GW and a battery storage capacity range of 23–27 GW by 2030. As renewable generation grows, energy storage is playing an increasingly important role in managing when electricity is available and when it is needed.

Building standards and tax policy are also influencing the market. The UK government published its Future Homes and Buildings Standards in 2026, with relevant rules scheduled to take effect in England on March 24, 2027. The framework is intended to support lower-carbon heating, energy efficiency and on-site renewable electricity in new buildings; the government expects solar PV to be included in most new homes in England.
Eligible residential electrical battery storage installations have also benefited from a temporary 0% VAT treatment since February 2024, currently scheduled to apply until March 31, 2027. These developments create a stronger context for households seeking to store, manage and use the electricity produced by rooftop solar systems.
At the exhibition, Hailei engaged with customers and industry partners on storage applications, system configurations, product requirements and potential collaboration. These discussions provided insights into how battery systems may be adapted to the needs of households, commercial users and other applications.

Hailei also reported that two of its energy storage cabinets had arrived at a warehouse in Manchester, and that the related certification and listing work had been completed. This marks a step forward in the company’s UK market development and is intended to support future project execution, delivery and customer service.
The company plans to continue improving local responsiveness and service capabilities for customers in the UK and across Europe.

Hailei continues to develop its portfolio of integrated energy storage systems and battery solutions with an emphasis on safety, flexible configuration, system efficiency and suitability for different scenarios.
For Hailei, Solar & Storage Live UK 2026 was not only an opportunity to present its offering, but also a chance to understand evolving customer requirements. The company will use feedback from international partners to guide product development and help make renewable energy easier to store, manage and use.
